Sofi and Jake’s story began in 2012, when they first met as teenagers in their ninth grade social studies class. Though they shared mutual friends throughout high school, their paths ran mostly parallel, and they remained acquaintances until senior year. It was then, through countless messages and late-night conversations, that a true friendship began to take shape.

By 2016, it became clear that their connection was something more. Jake’s easy charm and playful flirting opened the door to a love that quickly proved to be both steady and enduring. What started as friendship blossomed into a relationship built on laughter, trust, and a deep understanding of one another.

This September, they will celebrate nine years together—nearly a decade of memories, milestones, and shared dreams.

Over the past three years, Sofi and Jake have built a life side by side, creating a home filled with warmth, joy, and love. Their family grew with the addition of their beloved dog, Pearl, whose gentle spirit and playful presence have become a cherished part of their story.

In February of this year, Jake chose the serene beauty of the Morikami Japanese Gardens as the place to ask Sofi the most important question of his life. On a quiet Super Bowl Sunday, beneath the peaceful trees and winding paths, he knelt and asked her to be his forever. With that moment, their next chapter began—a chapter they are overjoyed to celebrate with all those they love most.
